The only positive was the location. My wife and I were in town for Essence Festival. The hotel is a few blocks away from the Superdome, Canal Street, and Borbon Street.
The hotel is outdated and not worth the rate that was obviously increased due to the activites going on that weekend. The couch in the room was filthy and we had to spray everything down with lysol to feel comfortable during our stay. We won't be staying there again and I won't recommend this hotel to anyone staying in New Orleans.
Fairly close to the areas we wanted to visit. They would not let us park in front of the hotel although we think the desk clerk had parked there. That made us have to leave several hours earlier than planned as we had already moved our vehicle from the parking lot. (Self parked)
The room was spacious, with all the facilities we needed for a weeks stay, including a bath, microwave, fridge, iron, ironing board, hairdryer. Air con was much appreciated in New Orleans. The location was excellent, not in the tourist heart of the french quarter, but only a few blocks walk away.
Close to bourbon stret
I chose this hotel because it was the best price I could find for two rooms either near downtown or near Tulane, and it offered breakfast.
It is just an old building, and in some ways, shows its age. The lobby continually smells like cigarette smoke - we are from California where smoking is not allowed in public places, so it is very noticeable. The bathroom toilet had a leak and dripped continually, so I mentioned it to the desk attendant when I left.
Walking distance to public transportation
Not updated, dirty and unmaintained...bedding and linens clean but not facility.
near to town walk to wherever you like
From the time of check-in everyone was courteous, friendly and knowledgeable about their city. Willing with advise or suggestions for first timers to explore. Our rooms were clean and spacious.
Rooms are clean and the continental breakfast was nice.
Parking was $20.00 per day, valet. Had option for $15.00 per day self park.
If was fairly close to the French Quarter and the train station. The price was better than most other properties in that area. The A/C worked well, as did the TV & Internet WiFi (most of the time--it went down twice while we were there 2 1/2 days). We liked having fruit available for snacking at the front desk.
The hotel property was dirty and showing its age--it looked like maintenance had been deferred for some time. Our first room had a microwave oven that started beeping in the middle of the night. The shower curtain rod was broken, and tipping ominously. The bathroom light could not be shut off. Our second room had a refrigerator that would not stay closed. We had to tape it shut. The Jacuzzi tub didn't work, and the shower diverter in the tub was hanging loose, and barely worked.
It is within walking distance to many of the attractions. The rooms are noticeably larger than regular hotel rooms. It is very convenient to have the mini-fridge and microwave in the room. It has a nice continental breakfast including hot scrambled eggs and sausage gravy.
Some of the furniture is noticeably worn. We were supposed to have waffles as part of the included breakfast, but the waffle maker was broken all 3 days that we were there.
All was very good and pleasant but the price was quite high.
Noisy, inefficient air conditioner was right by bed. Mattresses need replacing.
The best point of this hotel is its location: near the French Quarter. The hotel itself is medium: not bad, but also not very special.
so close to down town
